When it comes to working for leading publications like the New York Times, Rolling Stone, and Entertainment Weekly, illustrator Chris Buzelli’s favorite part of the creative process “is coming up with a good concept for an article that also works on its own.”
That’s certainly true for the oil painting by Chris used to striking effect on the cover of Global Brief. This cutting-edge international affairs magazine is known both for sharp critical analysis and distinctive black covers showcasing original illustrations. More work by Chris appears alongside a feature article, “Toward an Aboriginal Grand Strategy,” examining the return of indigenous political philosophy to a globally connected society.
The compelling strength of Chris’s critically acclaimed artwork has already been recognized by numerous prominent publications, advertising clients, and independent galleries. His earlier work for Global Brief was one of six of his paintings selected for the juried annual American Illustration 32, considered the "book of record" for today's top image-makers.
